What this sprocket size does to your bike, gas or electric. Smaller rear sprocket = more top speed, less pull. Bigger rear sprocket = more pull, less top speed. Enter what is on your bike and compare.

Estimates, not a promise. These percentages are gear-ratio math and hold for any bike, gas or electric; horsepower does not change them, it only sets the scale of the comparison. Only the rear tire's overall diameter affects gearing; the front wheel does not. Diameter is worked out from the size printed on the tire (rim plus two sidewalls) and real tires vary by brand by a few percent. How much you feel depends on power, weight, tire size, terrain and, on electrics, controller settings. The top-speed figure assumes the engine or motor reaches the same RPM at full speed; a bike that runs out of power before it runs out of revs will see less change there, and will instead cruise at higher or lower RPM by the same percentage. Bigger rear sprockets need a longer chain and may need a chain guide or swingarm clearance check. Count your own teeth before ordering.

Rear sprocket for the Surron Ultra Bee, machined from 7075-T6 aluminum in black, for the OEM 520 chain. Ten sizes: 40, 42, 44, 46, 50, 52, 54, 56, 58 or 60 teeth. $65.
More teeth means more low-end pull; fewer means more top speed. A big change in tooth count can need a longer chain; extra links are not included.
